NUPENG: National president visits Port-Harcourt Zone of the body

Friday the 11th of June 2021 was a great day for the Nupeng as all sectors flooded the road to Atrium (Stadium road) for a meeting with the body's national President Comrade Prince Williams Akporeha.

The President visited the state for a familiarization tour of the zone with the Union General Secretary Comrade Olawale Afolabi.

In the welcome address, the zonal chairman of the body here in Port-Harcourt Comrade Mina Samuel really expressed how honored and privileged was the zone to have the President, who is a colleague, a brother and a friend to make his first zonal familiarization visit.

He reminded the body when last the President visited, which was three years ago. The zonal chairman used this opportunity to tell the house that election will be coming up sooner, and for the great assistance the zone has gotten from the chairman, the zone has thrown its support for the re-election of the President for the second term in office come August.

Quoting from his speech, "As you all know, Port-Harcourt zone is the operational hub of the union, despite the challenges facing the oil and Gas industries, Port-Harcourt remains on top and we cannot afford to fail our President, we can't fail our conscience, not when we have a President who is most workers friendly, and a special friend to the zone. He is a father that has the spirit and blood of royalty that runs in him"

Comrade Prince Williams on his side, welcomed and with a heart full of joy and gladness, appreciated the zone for the full weight thrown on him for the election for a second term in office.

After much pleasantries and encomiums, awards were presented to the President and the GS for the good work they are doing toward the welfare of the entire workers in the Oil and Gas industries.

The President in tune, dedicated the award to the youth wing of the union. 

A session was allowed were many pored out praises and thanks for specific victories the presidents have made possible to their units and pray for more wisdom and grace upon them.

Before the close of the day, the president announced to the body about two new channels created in the Union to help look into some aspects. those channels are the Women's wing and the youth wing. Port-Harcourt was really happy to be the first zone to have the youth wing inaugurated.
